Introduction   

Faith in God is the key to a successful life. Faith is what God used to create the earth and everything that is in it. God says that without faith it is impossible to please Him. But He sent Jesus to show us that we could have and use that same faith that God uses. Since faith is so important  we need to know what it is, where it comes from, who can have it and how to use it to meet our needs.

What faith is

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for the evidence of things not seen.    Hebrews 11:1

Faith is THE substance, it is the substance out of which was made everything  that can be seen in this physical world. WOW. Hebrews 11:3 confirms that God used faith to create the world.

Faith is the fundamental element of the spiritual world. If I am to operate spiritually I need to have faith, but where does it come from.

Where faith comes from

So then faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God    Romans 10:17

Faith comes from hearing God's word. In fact the Greek for this verse says faith comes from hearing preached the words from the lips of Jesus. We don't get more faith by concentrating our minds, we don't get faith by even praying for it, we get faith by hearing God's word. So if we don't have enough we can get more by reading the Bible. But can I really have and operate in faith?

Who can have faith

For the scripture saith, Whosoever beleiveth on him shall not be ashamed.    Romans 10:13

In several places God says to us through His word the Bible that whosoever can operate in faith. God never asks you to do something that you are not capable of, that would be unjust and God is a just God. So we can have faith but how do we use it to obtain the things we need?

How is it used

For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.     Mark 11:23,24

This is Jesus himself telling us how to use faith to change something that can't be changed any other way. He is telling us how to move a mountain. We've all had mountains in our lives, things for which there was no natural solution or that were so difficult that we couldn't see a way round them. But Jesus said verily or I'm telling the truth that anyone can move any mountain if they follow the faith method outlined here. WOW now that has to be shouting ground!!!
