Q11. Doth this offend you?

When Jesus knew in himself that his disciples murmured at it, he said unto them, Doth this offend you? What and if ye shall see the Son of man ascend up where he was before?   John 6:61-62

Background

Jesus talking with the people ( with the multitude) who followed Him, who asked Him what shall we do that we might work the work of God. They asked for a sign as their fathers had received manna ( bread) from heaven

But Jesus told them:

• That He was the true bread from heaven v32.
• The bread of life. v35
• I am the bread that cometh down from heaven. v41
• I came down from heaven. v42
• I am that bread of life. v48
• I am the living bread. v51
• He that eateth of this bread shall live for ever. v58

When many of his disciples heard it they didn't understand and murmured.

It was from that time that many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him.
